Invoices and payments
Let clients pay online with Stripe
An owner connects Stripe in Settings › Client payments: pick Canada or the United States, click Connect Stripe and finish Stripe's steps. When the badge says Taking payments, your invoices can be paid online by card or bank debit, straight into your own Stripe account.
- Open Settings › Client payments.
- Under Online payments with Stripe, pick your country: Canada or the United States.
- Click Connect Stripe (or Continue with Stripe if you started before) and finish Stripe's steps.
- Wait for the badge to change from Finish setting up or Stripe is reviewing to Taking payments.
Only an owner can connect Stripe. The money goes straight to your company's own Stripe account; Sora Build never holds it.
Your invoice settings
Admins and owners set these on the same page. Every project's Billing tab uses them:
- How clients pay: online, or outside the app with payments you record.
- Currency (CAD or USD) and Payment terms (days from issue to due).
- Invoice prefix and Next invoice number.
- Tax name and Tax rate (%).
- Online payment methods: Card, and Bank debit: pre-authorized debit in Canada or ACH in the US, with lower fees but a few days to clear.
- Footer on every invoice.
See What online payments cost before you switch them on.
