Invoices and payments
What online payments cost
Your client pays the invoice amount and nothing more. Stripe's processing fees come out of what you receive. On Canadian-dollar online payments, Sora Build also takes a 0.5% platform fee, capped at CA$100 per payment. There's no platform fee on US-dollar payments.
The Sora Build platform fee
- 0.5% of each online client payment made in Canadian dollars, up to CA$100 per payment.
- No platform fee on US-dollar payments.
- It comes out of what you receive. Your client isn't surcharged.
- It isn't returned if you refund a payment.
- It applies only to online payments, not to cheques, cash or transfers you record by hand.
The exact wording is in our terms; see the legal overview for the rest.
Stripe's fees
Stripe's processing fees are separate, and Stripe charges them to your own Stripe account. As of October 2026, Stripe's standard rates are:
- Canada: cards 2.9% + CA$0.30; pre-authorized debit 1% + CA$0.40, at most CA$5.
- United States: cards 2.9% + US$0.30; ACH 0.8%, at most US$5.
