Critical path scheduling: See slip the day it happens

Critical path scheduling with saved baselines. A thin line under each task shows where it should be, and the critical path shows what sets your finish date.

Example: gray baseline lines under each task show the original plan, and red tags mark tasks finishing later than planned.

Baselines

The plan you promised, under the plan you have

When you save a baseline, a thin gray line sits under each bar. As work moves, the gap between the two shows exactly where the job has slipped, and by how much.

  • Homes save the original plan automatically

Baselines & critical path at a glance

  • Every project's baselines

One page lists every project's baselines, with the finish date then and now.

  • Compare with any baseline

Save as many baselines as you like, and compare the job with any of them.

  • Homes and commercial

Commercial projects get locked baselines and the critical path. Homes track slip against their original plan.

Critical path

Know which tasks set the finish date

Sora Build works out the chain of linked tasks with no room to slip and outlines it on the timeline. Protect those, and the finish date holds.

  • Updates as soon as a date changes

Questions

Asked and answered

What is a baseline?

A saved copy of your schedule's dates. The live schedule is compared against it, so you can see which tasks have moved and by how many days.

What is the critical path?

The chain of linked tasks that decides the finish date. If any of them slips, the finish slips too.

Does it show float?

Yes. Total float, the workdays a task can slip before it moves the finish, is worked out from your task links.
