Invoices and payments
Record a cheque, cash or transfer payment
Open the issued invoice and click Record payment. Enter the amount, how it was paid (cheque, cash, wire / e-transfer or other), the date you received it and a reference if you like. Online card and bank payments are recorded for you.
- Open the project's Billing tab and open the invoice.
- Click Record payment.
- Enter the Amount, choose How it was paid (Cheque, Cash, Wire / e-transfer or Other), and set the date Received.
- Add a Reference if you like, such as a cheque number or transfer confirmation, and click Record.
If the payment covers part of the invoice, it shows as Part paid until the rest comes in. When the full amount is in, it's Paid.
Made a mistake? Remove the payment from the invoice's list of payments and record it again.
Card and bank debit payments made through the invoice link are recorded automatically, so you don't need to add them. See How clients pay an invoice online.
