Invoices and payments
Create and send an invoice
Open the project's Billing tab and click New invoice. Start from a ready draw, a deposit, a share of the contract, your priced scope or a blank invoice. Check the lines, then click Issue or Issue and send. Once issued, it gets its number and can't be edited.
Office and up can invoice. Field and Viewer people don't see the Billing tab.
- Open the project and choose Billing (under More).
- Click New invoice and pick where to start: The draw that's ready, Deposit, Share of the contract (needs a contract value), Priced scope or Blank invoice.
- Check Bill to, Client email, the dates and How the client pays. The due date defaults to your payment terms.
- Edit the lines. Each line is an Item, Deposit, Progress, Draw or Credit / adjustment.
- Add a Note to the client if you like, then click Save draft, Issue, or Issue and send to email it.
After it's issued
- Copy client link or Send again to share it, and Client view to see what your client sees.
- Record payment for money that came in outside the app. See Record a payment.
- Void cancels it, and the client link stops working.
An invoice is Draft, Open, Part paid, Paid or Void, and shows Overdue after its due date. The top of the Billing tab adds up Contract, Invoiced, Paid and Owed.
