Schedules and tasks
Schedule views: list, board, calendar, timeline
Every schedule has five layouts: List, Board, Calendar, Timeline (Gantt on commercial projects) and Table. Switch with the layout button above the schedule, or press 1 to 5. Quick views, Filters and Display change what you see, never the schedule itself.
The five layouts
- List: every task in order, grouped by phase.
- Board: task cards in columns by status.
- Calendar: tasks on a month or a week, like a wall calendar.
- Timeline (Gantt on commercial projects): bars over time, with lines showing what waits for what.
- Table: a spreadsheet-style grid. Not on phones.
On a computer, homes open in Timeline and commercial projects in List; after that, each project opens in the layout you last used. Phones open the Calendar.
Narrow it down
- Quick views: All, My tasks, This week, Late, Blocked and Milestones, plus Critical path on commercial projects.
- Filters (F): status, assigned to, trade partner, phase, type and dates.
- Display: Group by status, phase, trade partner, assigned to or week, and Order by. Turning off Show done tasks hides tasks finished more than 7 days ago.
The view is part of the page address, so a copied link opens the same view for a teammate. ⌘P (Ctrl P) prints it.
Insights above the schedule answers: How far along are we? Are we on schedule? What needs attention? What's the next milestone?
