Schedules and tasks
Critical path and phases
On commercial projects, Sora Build works out the critical path from your task links: the chain of tasks where any delay pushes the finish date. Turn on Critical path in the Gantt or use the Critical path quick view. The Phases tab shows each phase with its own progress.
Critical path
- In the Gantt, turn on Critical path to highlight those tasks, and Float to show how many days each task can slip before it delays the finish.
- The Critical path quick view shows only critical tasks, in any layout.
- Display can add Float to each task.
The critical path comes from links, so link tasks in order first. See Link tasks so one waits for another. Moving a task on the critical path asks for a reason.
Phases
Phases group tasks, like Framing or Finishes. Templates bring their phases with them. To move a task, set Phase in the task or use Move to phase… in its … menu.
Commercial projects have a Phases tab: each phase as a card with its dates, tasks done, % done and a status worked out from its tasks (Not started, In progress, Blocked, Done or Behind).
Homes use phases on the schedule too, but the critical path, float and the Phases tab come with commercial projects.
