Schedules and tasks
Why is a task late or at risk?
A task is Late when it isn't done and its finish date has passed. It's At risk when it's blocked, has started but is 25 or more points behind where it should be, or its start date has passed and it hasn't started. Days are counted in workdays.
Tasks
- Late: not done, and its finish date is before today. Days late are the workdays since the finish date.
- At risk (not late yet), when any one is true: it's Blocked; it has started and its % done is 25 or more points behind the share of its workdays that have passed; or its start date has passed and it's still Not started.
- Upcoming starts after today. On track is moving at the pace its dates need.
Projects and phases
Projects say Behind rather than Late.
- Behind: a milestone is late, the forecast finish is after the target finish, or 10% or more of the tasks due so far are late.
- At risk: any task is late or blocked, or 3 or more tasks are at risk.
- Otherwise On track, unless the project is on hold, finished, not started yet or has no schedule.
Fix it
- Update the task: set % done, or mark it In progress or Done. Work the crew finished but nobody marked done still counts as late.
- If the plan changed, move the dates. See Move tasks and shift dates.
- Use the Late and Blocked quick views on a schedule, or Behind on the Projects page, to find them.
“Today” follows your company's time zone in Settings › General.
