Draft a weekly update with AI
On a project's Overview, click Draft weekly update. AI drafts an update from the schedule for your team or for your client, and you edit it, then copy it or post it to the client conversation.
The weekly update reads the schedule: what finished this week, what slipped and what's coming up.
- Open the project. On its Overview, click Draft weekly update.
- Pick For your team or For the client (For the owner on commercial projects).
- Click Draft the team update or Draft the client update.
- Read the draft and edit it.
- Click Copy, or Post to client conversation for the client version.
What the client version leaves out
It only uses what your client can already see: task names, dates and progress. It leaves out prices, notes, trade names and people.
Before you share it, Sora Build checks the text for amounts, email addresses, phone numbers and names to keep private. If it finds any, it shows "Take these out before you share it" and you can't post or copy until you remove them.
The button shows on projects that have tasks and aren't archived. You need a paid plan and the Office role or above.

- What can AI do in Sora Build? On paid plans, AI drafts weekly project updates, sums up comment threads and drafts replies, and reads trade invoices into scope lines. Everything it writes is a draft you check before anything is saved or sent.
- Comments and messagesEach task has comments, and each project has a Conversation on its Client tab that your client always sees. Task comments are Internal by default, so only your team sees them. Switch one to Shared with client when you want your client to see it.
- What your client seesYour client sees their own project's progress, task names, dates and status, the approvals you ask for, and messages and comments you share with them. They never see prices, internal comments, your team or other projects. Invoices reach them only through their own payment link.
