Projects
Create a project
Click New project on the Projects page, choose a home or a commercial project, pick a template and start date (or start blank), then name it. Only the name is required. The Office, Admin and Owner roles can create projects.
- Go to Projects and click New project.
- What are you building? Choose A home or A commercial project. This can't be changed later. See Residential and commercial projects.
- Start from a template? Pick a template and a Start date (it defaults to next Monday), and every task is laid out from that date. Use Choose tasks to leave some out. Or pick Start blank.
- How do you want to see it? Pick List, Calendar or Timeline (Gantt on commercial projects). You can switch anytime.
- Details: only the name is required. You can add a job or project number, status, start date, target finish (Move-in date on homes), contract price, site address, and details like community and lot (homes) or contract type and architect (commercial).
- Click Create home or Create project.
The project opens on its schedule. A home started from a template also keeps its first dates as the Original plan, so its Overview can show if it slips.
Started blank?
While a schedule has no tasks, it offers Use a schedule template. Or press C to add tasks one at a time. See Add tasks and update their status.
