Import a schedule from Excel or MS Project
Upload it as a schedule template: Planning › Schedule templates › New template › Upload a file. It reads CSV or TSV exports from Excel, MS Project or Primavera and shows a preview before you save. Then use it on a new project, or on one whose schedule is still empty.
- Export your schedule as CSV or TSV. Sora Build doesn't open .mpp or .xlsx files directly, so save or export from Excel, MS Project or Primavera first.
- Go to Planning › Schedule templates, click New template and choose Upload a file.
- Choose the file under Schedule file. Give it a Template name and set Used for to Homes or Commercial.
- Check the preview: how many tasks and phases, the total workdays, the trades, and any notes about the file.
- Click Save template.
What it reads
- Columns named Phase, Task, Trade, Duration and Predecessors. Common alternatives work too, like Activity Name, Resource, Days or Depends on.
- Durations in workdays.
- Predecessors as a task ID, the task's number in the list or its name, written MS Project style: 12, 12FS+3 or 7SS-2.
- Up to 1,000 tasks in 60 phases.
Templates keep finish-to-start and start-to-start links. Finish-to-finish and start-to-finish links are read as the closest of those, with a warning, and gaps over 60 days are capped.
Into an existing project
A template fills a schedule that has no tasks yet: open the project's schedule and choose Use a schedule template. You can't add an import to a schedule that already has tasks.
Uploaded templates belong to your company. Only your team can see or use them.
