Your team

Roles and what each one can do

Everyone has one of five roles: Owner, Admin, Office, Field or Viewer. Owners, Admins and Office see every project. Field users see only the projects they're on, where they can create and update tasks, comment and upload photos. Viewers can look but can't change anything.

The five roles

  • Owner: full control, including billing. Only an owner can manage the plan, connect Stripe for client payments and delete the company.
  • Admin: manages people, settings and every project. Admins invite people, change company settings and client payment settings, see the full history, and delete projects.
  • Office: sees and edits every project. Office people create projects, see Reports and the Billing tab, invite clients, ask for approvals, edit scope and templates, and manage Directory companies.
  • Field: for superintendents and crews. They see only the projects they're on, and there they can create and update tasks, comment and upload photos and videos.
  • Viewer: can look at the projects they're on, but can't change anything.

Good to know

  • The Billing tab and Reports are for Office and up. Field and Viewer never see the Billing tab.
  • A Field user whose job on a project is Can view can't make changes on that project.
  • AI features are for Office and up, on paid plans.
  • Buttons you can't use are hidden, not grayed out.
  • Clients in the portal and companies in your Directory aren't team members and have no role.
