Clients and the portal
Ask your client to approve a change
On the project's Client tab (Owner on commercial projects), click Ask under Approvals and say what needs approving. Your client approves or declines it in their portal. Their answer is final and goes on the record with their name and the date.
Ask for approval
- Open the project's Client tab (Owner on commercial) and click Ask under Approvals.
- Fill in What needs approving, for example “Upgrade to quartz counters”.
- Add Details if you like: what changes and what it means for the schedule.
- Optionally add a Cost (a minus sign makes it a credit), a Needed by date, the Task it's about, and photos, videos or a PDF quote.
- Click Send.
Your client gets an email that you need their OK. If they haven't joined yet, the request waits until they sign in. Office and up can ask for approvals.
What your client does
In the portal, under Your decisions, they choose Approve or Decline and can add a note. You see their answer on the Client tab.
Withdraw a request
While it's still open, you can Withdraw it. Your client can't answer it any more, and it stays on the record as withdrawn.
On paid plans, Draft details can write the details for you from what you typed. Check it before you send.
